Online Training for Trainer (TOT) Course: Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Technology Course Level 1, 2 & 3 with Institute of Motor Industry (IMI) Certificate

A Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Technology Course Level 1, 2 & 3 was organized by the Automotive Engineering Center specifically for lecturers and instructors from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UNIMAP). A total of 6 participants consisting of lecturers and instructors attended this course. The Level 1 course was successfully conducted for two days on 14 and 15 August 2021 online while the course and practical assessment were conducted for three days on 22 November 2021 to 24 November 2021.
To enable participants to obtain a certificate of competency from the Institute Of Motor Industry (IMI) from the United Kingdom, this course will be conducted at the Center for Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Technology, Kolej Komuniti Kepala Batas, Penang. They have qualified and skilled instructors in addition to having sufficient equipment and tools to carry out the teaching process and evaluation process to the participants.
As a matter of knowledge, this hybrid and electric vehicle technology is an emerging technology used by vehicle manufacturers Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, Tesla as well as several other vehicle manufacturers. This vehicle is a type of hybrid vehicle that combines an internal combustion engine of a thrust system with an electric thrust system. The presence of electric power systems aims to achieve either better fuel economy compared to conventional vehicles or better performance.
Throughout the course, participants have gained knowledge of new and latest technologies in hybrid technology as well as ways to repair hybrid vehicle systems. This course will be continued in the coming years as there is demand among the industry and vehicle service centers.
