Online Technical Course : Operational & Application of Rotational Rheometer (Rheolabqc) for Viscosity Measurement Organized by Automotive Centre
By Rosidah Mohd Norsat
The Rotational Rheometer called "RheolabQC" available at the Advanced Fluid Properties Laboratory (AFP), Automotive Engineering Centre (Automotive Centre) is a device used to measure dynamic viscosity of low-viscosity up to semi-solid samples.
Demand for the application of RheolabQC equipment in AFP laboratories is receiving increasing response from within and outside UMP. However, further understanding and specific skills need to be emphasized among students or researchers interested in this related field.
Thus, the technical course Operational & Application of Rotational Rheometer (RheolabQC) for Viscosity Measurement is an initiative of Automotive Centre as a sharing medium related to the application, analysis and capabilities of RheolabQC for the purpose of research and application to students and staff at UMP. A total of 6 participants consisting of lecturers and students attended this course which was conducted online on 10 November 2021.
Throughout the course, participants were exposed to the purpose, function and method of viscosity measurement using RheolabQC along with hands-on demonstrations. This course also serves as a platform for added value and competencies improvement for the purpose of Train for Trainer (ToT) to the participants who are also among the organizing staff.
